From The Kitchen
Serious Cooking, Steps From the Water
We are a scratch kitchen in a harbor town. That means we butcher whole animals, make our own pasta, and build every sauce from the bones up. The menu moves with the season and with whatever came in fresh that morning. But the view always stays the same.

Chef Clint Frenette
Trained in the Classics. Rooted in Port Sanilac.
Chef Clint Frenette formalized his training at Le Cordon Bleu, mastering technique, sauce structure, and respect for the ingredient. He spent years as a culinary instructor at Sanilac Career Center, where the Michigan Restaurant Association named him Chef Instructor of the Year in 2020 and again in 2022, and where he led his students to a state championship and a national competition in Washington, D.C.
His cooking lives between fine dining and comfort. Deep flavors over elaborate plating. Whole animal butchery, Great Lakes fish, seasonal Michigan produce.
Have Questions?
We strongly recommend one. We are a small room and we fill up, especially on
weekends in summer. Book through OpenTable or call us at (810) 622-0779.
There is parking behind the restaurant on the west side. Two additional lots are available on the west side of Lake street. Handicap parking is available on the south side of the building near the elevator entrance.
Yes. Wednesday through Sunday. However, our hours change with the season, so be sure to check back for our current hours.
We can. We keep gluten free and vegan options on the menu at all times, and we run a dedicated gluten free fryer. If you have an allergy, be sure to let your server know ahead of time.
Well behaved kids are always welcome. We should be upfront that we do not keep a separate kids menu, and our food leans adventurous, so you know better than we do whether it will suit them. If pizza and ice cream sounds like the safer bet, On Water Pizza & Ice Cream Co. is on the ground floor of the same building.
No dress code. We would call the room upscale rather than casual, and most guests dress for the evening. That said, we are on a harbor. If you are coming in after a long day on the boat, come as you are.
All of the Details
The building has been completely remodeled. If you’re local, things may not be exactly where you remember them.
